Biceps Tenodesis
When there is significant tendonitis around the biceps tendon as it enters the shoulder, or when the biceps anchor inside the joint is disrupted, we need to redirect the biceps tendon. In some circumstances, we can just cut the biceps. This is called a tenotomy and usually does not cause any significant weakness, though some people may see a cosmetic change. Typically, we tie the biceps down to a new anchor point, this is called a tenodesis.
